Hi! I’m Anne, and I started this healthy lifestyle blog back in 2009 as a way to inspire others to lead happier, healthier lives.
I want people to see that eating nutritious food and staying active doesn’t have to be complicated – and can even be fun! I’m a Registered Dietitian (RD) and I have a Masters of Public Health in Nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I’m also a mother, marathoner, yogi, and lover of the outdoors, adventure, travel, and healthy recipe creation. I live in the Washington, DC area with my husband, Matt, and our daughter, Riese, who was born in November 2017.
On this blog, you’ll find a mix of daily life, easy recipes, quick meal ideas, running & race recaps, adventures in motherhood, active travel, nutrition tips, and more.
In addition to blogging, I have my own nutrition counseling private practice in northern Virginia, helping clients to improve their relationships with food via an intuitive eating approach. I have also created two online programs – a Nutrition for Runners Program, co-authored with a running coach, and an intuitive eating program called Joyful Eating, Nourished Life.
I hope you enjoy the blog, and that you’ll find it a nice place to come and be entertained, educated, and inspired!
where to start
Come for the recipes – stay for the fun!
In addition to lots of healthy and easy recipes, I share a lot about my life on the blog, too. When I started this blog in 2009, I was single and just starting my journey to go back to graduate school to become a Registered Dietitian.
I’ve since had a lot of big moments that have been documented on this blog! I started and finished grad school. I completed my dietetic internships and passed the national exam to officially become a Registered Dietitian. I got engaged to and then married to my husband, Matt. I started my own nutrition counseling private practice. I ran my first half marathon, then my first full marathon, and then a dozen more half marathons and 2 more full marathons. I got pregnant and we welcomed our daughter, Riese, to the family.
And many more little moments in between. It has been so much fun sharing my life and my growing family with all of you, my blog readers. Thank you for being here – I’m so glad to have you!
